Foreign Embassies in Abuja, faced with the potential closure for failing to pay ground rent for over a decade.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had ordered enforcement against nearly 4,800 defaulting properties, Thirty-four foreign embassies in Abuja face potential closure for failing to pay ground rent for over a decade, according to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) but President Bola Tinubu granted a 14-day grace period, now expired.

these include; Embassies from Ghana, Thailand, Russia, Turkey, Ireland, Germany, Venezuela, Zambia, Indonesia, and Equatorial Guinea, missions from Egypt, Chad, Sierra Leone, India, Sudan, Niger, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, China, and South Africa. Although some embassies have denied the allegations.

UPDATE ON 2025 ELECTION

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled 16th August, 2025, by 8:30am for a series of by-elections to fill vacant seats in the National and State Assemblies across 12 states. This announcement was made by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, during a meeting with political party leaders in Abuja. The affected constituencies include Anambra South and Edo Central Senatorial Districts; Ovia South West/Ovia South East (Edo), Babura/Garki (Jigawa), Chikun/Kajuru (Kaduna), Ikenne/Shagamu/Remo North (Ogun), and Ibadan North (Oyo) Federal Constituencies. June 12 Protest : Organizers list Nationwide protest venues

  The Take it back Movement ahead of the June 12 Democracy day has revealed a list of protest venues across the Nation.
